Use Even Lighting

Photograph near a window with indirect sunlight or use two desk lamps positioned on either side. Avoid overhead lights that cast harsh shadows across the text.

Shoot Straight On

Hold your phone parallel to the menu, directly above it. Angled shots cause trapezoidal distortion that makes text harder to read in the final PDF.

Use Your Highest Resolution

Set your phone camera to its maximum resolution. Higher-resolution source images produce sharper, more legible PDFs, especially for small text like allergen notes or fine print.

Flatten Folded Menus
