Ghost kitchen

A restaurant business operating delivery-only with no dine-in space. Often runs multiple virtual brands from one shared kitchen. Menus are typically digital-only — no physical printed materials needed.

Why this matters for restaurants: Ghost kitchens (also called cloud kitchens or dark kitchens) skip rent and front-of-house labor in favor of delivery aggregator throughput. The model relies heavily on digital menus because there's no physical menu to hand a customer — the menu lives on Uber Eats, DoorDash, your own website, and a QR that maybe goes on the takeout bag.

For ghost kitchens, the digital menu is the entire customer-facing experience: photos must be crisp, descriptions must sell, and allergen tags must be unambiguous because there's no server to verify. See Digital Menu for Ghost Kitchens for the delivery-aggregator-friendly menu setup.
